Vegan Apple Crisp
- 4 cups apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp flax + 3 tbsp water
- 1/2 cup plain or vanilla soymilk (or any non-dairy milk)
- 1/3 cup applesauce
Topping:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup crushed walnuts (optional)
Place apples in greased baking dish. Combine wet and dry ingredients separately, then mix together. Pour over apples. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over everything. Let set for a couple minutes, then bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
